If they model or emulate the appropriate behaviors that are indicated in the Tao Te Ching and other holy books, they have completed their life and can die in tranquility. Thus, if followers of Taoism adopt the Taoism beliefs, they has fully completed their value in life. Many practices like breathing and meditating results in experiencing a long and healthy life. In order to achieve harmony, human nature has to be aligned with the rest of the nature. The purpose of life in Taoism is to live in accordance to the Tao. The nameless is the beginning of heaven and earth However, if they approach the Tao with self-serving desires, they can only observe its external physical presentation, not the inner essence. It also gives the Taoists thoughtful insights and creativity. This establishes a connection with the intelligence and the consciousness of the universe. In Taoism, the followers do not approach the Tao with self-serving desires therefore, they can observe its wonders and marvels more carefully. This abstraction of the Tao was also recognized by the Confucianism, Buddhism and overall throughout East Asian philosophy and religion. The Tao is a metaphysical (related to the branch of philosophy explaining nature of being and the world) concept originating from Laozi. It is also "eternally nameless" and is perceived to be distinguished from the "named" things which are considered to be manifestations or the external appearance of something. The followers of Taoism get enlightened with the idea that the Tao is indefinable and it is beyond human logic. It is the basis of all living things and it is a method for all Taoists to live by because it governs and controls nature. Stop interfering with your own life then suddenly all interference disappears because it is absurd. The Tao is a concept signifying the "way" or "path". That is just a reflection, which is just a shadow. If you continue to interfere with your own life, you are bound to interfere with others’ lives. The second thing: “Can one believe in Tao, not interfering with other people’s lives…?” Once you have stopped interfering with your own life, you have stopped interfering with others’ lives. In that transparency you are not separate from it how can you believe in it or disbelieve in it? You are it. Once you don’t look through words, concepts, verbalizations, it reveals truth to you everything becomes so crystal clear, so transparent. Life is simply there all around you, within and without. It is not a doctrine preached by somebody. Don’t approach through the door of belief otherwise you will be in a philosophy, in a religion, in a church, in a dogma, but you will never be in life. So the first thing you ask: “Can one believe in Tao…?” No, it is not a belief. That “yes” transforms, transforms totally. When you drop all beliefs and disbeliefs and you are immediate, in contact with life, a trust arises, a great “yes” arises in your being. Tao is neither a belief nor a disbelief but the dropping of all beliefs and disbeliefs. The stronger the belief, the greater the barrier. Trust is immediate, direct, in life it is not about life. A totally new kind of trust then arises – trust in life. It does not say: “Believe.” That’s what other religions do. The first thing: “Can one believe in Tao…?” Tao does not depend on belief. Can one believe in Tao, not interfering with other people's lives, accepting what is now, and by profession be a psychotherapist? What, or how, is a Tao way of doing therapy?
